Born in 1976, Tim initially read philosophy and French at Leeds University.  After graduating in 1999, he went on to study at the Guildhall School of Music in London where he completed the jazz postgraduate diploma in 2000.  Since this time Tim has performed and recorded with both his own trio and many other leading jazz musicians/groups including Eddie Henderson, Ian Shaw, Brandon Allen, Georgia Mancio, Dave Lewis' 1up, Bobby Wellins, Polly Gibbons, Arnie Somogyi's Ambulance, Robben Ford, Quentin Collins, Jean Toussaint, Julian Jackson and Acoustic Ladyland.  Under his own name he has recorded three albums:  Ourlines (2002), Natural Language (2004) and Seventh Sense (2007).

After a period away from his own projects due, in the main to the arrival of a new member of the family in 2007, Tim reformed, in November 2010, the trio with Stephen Keogh (drums) and Arnie Somogyi (bass) to play 3 very well-received gigs at Ronnie Scott's Club supporting Cedar Walton. He is currently in the process of recording a new album, Intention, which wil include purely original compositions featuring solo, trios and larger ensemles (including with string quartet )The music draws from jazz, blues, hip-hop clasical, folk and Brazilian influences and is a very exciting project. All being well the album will be released in November 2011 alongside a UK tour.
