Stefano Riggi, after some experiences in rock and rhythm & blues, he devoted himself to the study of jazz in 1991. In the same year he joined the Bansigu Big Band, of which he is now director. Since then there have been many collaborations with some of the most prestigious Italian and foreign artists including: Paul Jeffrey, Jimmy Cobb, Scott Hamilton, Lee Konitz, Charlie Mariano, Andrea Pozza, Riccardo Zegna, Rossano Sportiello, Pietro Leveratto, Aldo Zunino, Luciano Milanese, Alfred Kramer, Sandro Gibellini, Alessio Menconi, Giampaolo Casati, Luca Begonia, Carlo Atti, Danila Satragno.

He has been work with GMF since 2006 at the  "Tuscany International Jazz Summer School & Arts Festival" (Certaldo), and has been working as an assistant / translator at the annual workshop of the great american saxophonist Scott Hamilton.
He teaches at the Louisiana Jazz Club School in Genoa and the "Centro Jazz Torino", and is one of the artistic directors of the Count Basie Jazz Club Genoa.
