Ross Sutherland

Ross is the winner of several slams including the Apples & Snakes North Vs South slam, the Second's Out Slam and the Farrago UK Vs Canada Slam. He has also competed in slams in Germany and Switzerland. Ross also runs poetry workshops in schools, prisons and community centres across the North West.
Along with Luke Wright, Ross Sutherland is one of the founder members of performance poetry collective, Aisle16. Since 2003 he has co-written six live literature productions, including Poetry Boyband (Time Out Critic's Choice of 2005) and Services to Poetry, Aisle 16's video-travelogue of Britain's motorway service stations. He was included in The Times's list of Top Ten Literary Stars of 2008.
His debut poetry collection, Things To Do Before You Leave Town, was published in 2009. A self-confessed video game geek, he has recently completed a thesis on computer-generated poetry and writes univocalisms - poems written using only one vowel. He also works as a director and a journalist.
