Richard Douglas Pennant
Poet, Wales/Cyprus
Richard Douglas Pennant was born in north Wales. He has published two books of poems, Old Stones New Tales and Alabaster Jar. Much of the inspiration for his poetry comes from his native Wales, tales, legends, of the Celtic deities; as well as ancient Hellenic history. Human relationships - the power of love, friendship and personal growth all play a part in his writing. Two CD recordings, Old Stones New Tales and Letting Go, feature selected poems and music by Qaanun player Abdullah Chhadeh, violinist Darragh Morgan, cellist Matthew Barley, and the Frank Harrison Jazz trio. He has performed his poetry on tour in the UK, Ireland, Greece, Italy, Holland and Germany.
