Daniel Clason   trumpet

Daniel was playing the organ in a church from the age of 6 and later started to play trumpet when he was 10.

He was fortunate to have always been surrounded by music lovers in his family. He says his real inspiration comes from his mother who has supported him in all his efforts to be a musician.

He won a Scholarship in 2014 to attend Siena Jazz, Italy

Later on he went on to play lead trumpet in Jazz Focus (youth Bigband) and then with Nationaal Jeugd Jazz Orkest directed by Martin Fondse (4th trumpet and solist). He also plays with the “Marco Santos” group, and ‘’Pandora Project’’. His own album Daniel Clason Ensemble will release its most recent recording very soon.

Due to a surgical proceedure at the beginning of 2014 he was put in a life threatening condition and had to be kept in an artificial coma for an extended period of time. During this time it was unknown if he could ever be able play again. He became more aware of how precious music was to him and the love for it only grew in spite of the physical injuries. Due to this experience he feels that life is worth exploring and no one should ever feel held back from following their dreams. Now fully healed Daniel enjoys a full calender as his musical journey continues and he goes ahead on the road to establishing himself as a musician and composer. He is one of the most gifted young jazz musicians to have emerged in Netherlands in recent years and is a valuable addition to the European Jazz scene.
