Morning: Circlesongs for all - 10:30
Laying the foundations: a session for everyone. Simple yoga stretches, breath work, rhythmic games, vocal exercises aiming to open up the body, free the voice, find stillness within and with it, the enhancement of our listening skills. (½ hr)
Circlesinging: for singers of all levels, from beginners to professionals. For anyone who wants to experience the joy and freedom of group singing through choral pieces developed 'in the moment' and taught aurally (no notation). Experienced singers can explore improvisation while the wider group holds the circle ongs. (1 hr)
Afternoon: Circlesong laboratories 15:30
Creating and leading circlesongs: ideal for choral singers, conductors, and anyone interested in community building or spiritual practice. Helps develop trust and creativity. (¾ hr)
Musicianship through circlesongs: circlesongs can be used as a playful, organic way to understand and teach music, as well as developing ensemble singing skills. Ideal for anyone looking to develop their own musicality, or to help learners. (¾ hr)
Coming together in song: in this session I'll be leading everyone for more circlesongs. Students who attended the afternoon laboratories will also have the chance to lead the wider group, test their new skills and get feedback. (1 hr)
