Aldeburgh Harp Course
Aldeburgh, Suffolk, UK, 18–22 July 2011
9.30 to 11.00 warm up and technique class for all levels. Day two will include sight reading techniques. Day three will include performance skills
11.30 to 1.00 Ensemble work. The course splits into its 3 levels . Junior, Intermediate and Senior to work on the set music .
Free time with visits to the historic town of Aldeburgh, Thorpeness Mere, Orford Castle, walks on the marshes, or Aldeburgh beach
4.00 tea break
4.30 to 6.00 Ensemble work in 3 levels as the morning
6.00 evening meal
7.00 to 8.30 Full ensemble. All levels meet to play together.
Each group studies at least three pieces. All music is sent out in advance of the course.
To balance the high level of musicial concentration there will be free time in the afternoons with opportunities to have supervised visits to Aldeburgh with its wonderful beach and interesting High Street as well as the beautiful Thorpeness Mere.
