The Art of Jazz
The Art of Jazz is a joint project between Hampstead School of Art and The Global Music Foundation, which aims to explore the crossover influences of art on jazz and jazz on art. We are starting the programme with the first of what we hope will become a regular club event, featuring top names from the jazz world. If you are interested in becoming a member of The Art of Jazz Club please contact the art school.
A Brush with Jazz
This is a loose series of activities being planned by HSA in collaboration with The Global Music Foundation and others, with the aim of bringing together people from the visual arts and the performing arts - painting, music, dance, poetry etc.
We will be inviting guest lecturers to talk about how artists and jazz musicians have influenced each other throughout the 20th century; running classes and workshops; examining how the idea of improvisation on a theme might be used to make a collectively created painting or mural; and encouraging art students to make their own instruments and play jazz and inspiring musicians to paint or explore and practice other art mediums.
If you would like to be kept informed of the progress of these initiatives please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
